REGULATION

ART. 1 – ORGANIZATION

Lessinia Legend Sport - Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica and APS, organizes the seventh "Lessinia Legend Run" for Sunday 15 September 2024 in Velo Veronese (VR), a semi-self-sufficiency trail running competition under the aegis of ASI with six races of different distances:

 

• LEGEND RUN 10 Trail&Walk (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) Non-competitive route

• LEGEND RUN 10 (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-)

• LEGEND RUN 20 (20 km and 1028 m of altitude difference +/-)

• LEGEND RUN 30 (30 km and 1970 m of altitude difference +/-)

• LEGEND RUN 45 (47 km and 3460 m of altitude difference +/-)

• LEGEND LUX (65 km and 4805 m of altitude difference +/-)

 

ART. 2 - THE RACES

There is a non-competitive route (LLR 10 Trail&Walk) and five competitive races (LLR10/20/30/45/LUX) which consist of running races mainly on paths and dirt roads of the Lessinia and Piccole Dolomiti in a natural context mountains with departure and arrival in Velo Veronese (VR).

 

ART. 3 - THE ROUTES

The routes of the five races (map, description and GPS tracks) are documented and described on the website www.lessinialegendrun.it; The organization reserves the right to make changes to the routes by duly reporting them on the website and social media pages. Furthermore, changes may be made on the day of the race if the Organization, at its sole discretion, deems it necessary to guarantee the safety of the participants.

Each participant is required to inform themselves about the route of their race in order to be able to travel independently. The routes will however be traced with specific signs and specific communication will be given.

ART. 4 - PROGRAM

The detailed program of the races, the distribution of bibs and everything necessary to carry out the race will be available on the website www.lessinialegendrun.it starting from 31 March 2024 and updated until the day of the event.

 

ART. 5 - PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

Registration for the race is a voluntary act that each competitor must carry out responsibly.

The race takes place in a predominantly mountainous natural environment in increasing order of difficulty as the mileage of the route increases with the possibility of difficult weather conditions (wind, cold, rain or snow) and paths that are not easy and partly classified as "EE" (Hikers Experts).

Each competitor therefore declares that they are aware of the difficulties of the race route, the characteristics and methods of carrying out the event, and is required to verify their own level of preparation to guarantee their own safety.

The Organization appeals to the responsibility of each individual participant in adopting behavior that reduces the risk of harm to themselves and others. Good physical preparation, adequate equipment, experience of mountain excursions is required and it is recommended to have participated in other competitions of similar difficulty/distance.

Registration for all routes will open on 03/09/2024 and will end on 09/13/2024 unless places are sold out as indicated below. The Organizer reserves the right to change the maximum number of participants based on the evolution of the health situation and national directives relating to sporting events.

Registration for one of the six courses entails unreserved acceptance of these regulations. Registrations will not be accepted from athletes who are serving disqualifications for doping in any discipline.

 

LESSINIA LEGEND RUN 10 Trail&Walk

This non-competitive event is open to all persons who are 14 years of age or older at the time of the event. A "medical certificate of good health" is required while membership is not necessary.

The limit of members is set at 150 participants.

 

LESSINIA LEGEND RUN 10 – 20 – 30 – 45

These competitive events are open to all persons aged 18 or over (16 years for LLR10-LLR20) at the time of the event.

All participants of the LESSINIA LEGEND 10, 20, 30 and 45 km routes are required to present a valid medical certificate for competitive activity (sports list table B) valid at the time of the event.

In case of failure to deliver the medical certificate or in case of presentation of an invalid certificate at the time of the race, the bib will not be delivered. The medical certificate for foreign athletes must be provided using the appropriate form provided by the organization.

The limit of participants is set at: LLR10 - 150 participants, LLR20 - 300 participants, LLR30 - 200 participants, LLR45 - 150 participants.

 

LESSINIA LEGEND LUX (65 km)

This competitive event is open to all persons who are 18 years of age or older at the time of the event and who have completed between 1 January 2023 and 08/09/2024 a three-point qualifying match (ITRA evaluation criteria).

All participants are required to present a valid medical certificate for competitive activity (sports list table B) valid at the time of the event.

In case of failure to deliver the medical certificate or in case of presentation of an invalid certificate at the time of the race, the bib will not be delivered. The medical certificate for foreign athletes must be provided using the appropriate form provided by the organization.

The route has exposed sections and difficulties typical of mountain paths.

The limit of members is set at 150 participants.

 

ART. 6 – SEMI SELF-SUFFICIENCY

According to the principle of semi-self-sufficiency, a competitor must be autonomous between two refreshment points both in terms of food and in terms of equipment and safety and be able to adapt in the event of any problems encountered or foreseeable.

All participants must always have with them for the entire duration of the races an adequate supply of food and a water reserve in addition to the mandatory material indicated in the following point. Along the routes there will be refreshment points and water supply points marked on the maps published on the website www.lessinialegendrun.it and in the Roadbook.

Personal assistance on the route is prohibited and is only permitted at the refreshment points. It is forbidden to be accompanied along the route by people who are not regularly registered for the races.

Participants in the LEGEND RUN 45 and LUX are also required to have with them what is indicated in point 8.

 

ART. 7 - MANDATORY MATERIAL

All athletes on each route are required to wear appropriate clothing also taking into account the weather conditions.

The use of a personal glass is mandatory.

LESSINIA LEGEND RUN 45 - LUX

The participants of the LEGEND RUN 45 and LUX, under penalty of disqualification or penalty, undertake to carry the following mandatory material with them throughout the duration of the races:

• backpack or pouch that can contain the material listed below;

• survival blanket/sheet;

• charged mobile phone;

• personal glass;

• minimum water reserve 1 litre;

• food reserve;

LUX participants are required to bring with them, under penalty of disqualification, in addition to the above material:

• working headlamp;

• whistle;

(the organization reserves the right to integrate this equipment due to weather conditions by communicating it in the days before the race)

RECOMMENDED MATERIAL:

It is recommended to have the following material with you:

- waterproof suitable to withstand bad weather conditions in the mountains;

- energy bars or solid foods

- cash for the possible purchase of food at the refuges

- elastic bandage for bandages

 

The use of poles is permitted.

The organization reserves the right to carry out random checks before departure, during the races and upon arrival.

 

ART. 8 - REGISTRATION 

It is possible to register for the event starting from 03/09/2024 via the Myraceresult portal by following the links indicated at www.lessinialegendrun.it/iscrive with payment by credit card, Paypal and bank transfer. Registration involves the payment of the registration fee plus secretarial costs and commissions for each type of payment (credit card, bank transfer, etc.) quantified at €1.98 + 4.2%.

ART. 9 - REGISTRATION COSTS AND SERVICES

The registration fees until 07/31/2024 are set as follows:

 

• LEGEND RUN 10 Trail&walk (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) €17.50

• LEGEND RUN 10 (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) €22.50

• LEGEND RUN 20 (20 km and 1028 m of altitude difference +/-) €32.50

• LEGEND RUN 30 (30 km and 1970 m of altitude difference +/-) €40.00

• LEGEND RUN 45 (47 km and 3460 m of altitude difference +/-) €50.00

• LEGEND LUX (68 km and 4805 m of altitude difference +/-) €70.00

For registrations made from 01/08/2024 to 06/09/2024 the fees are set as follows:

• LEGEND RUN 10 Trail&walk (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) €22.50

• LEGEND RUN 10 (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) €27.50

• LEGEND RUN 20 (20 km and 1028 m of altitude difference +/-) €37.50

• LEGEND RUN 30 (30 km and 1970 m of altitude difference +/-) €45.00

• LEGEND RUN 45 (47 km and 3460 m of altitude difference +/-) €55.00

• LEGEND LUX (68 km and 4805 m of altitude difference +/-) €75.00

For registrations made from 07/09/2024 to 13/09/2024 the fees are set as follows:

• LEGEND RUN 10 Trail&walk (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) €25.00

• LEGEND RUN 10 (10 km and 490 m of altitude difference +/-) €32.50

• LEGEND RUN 20 (20 km and 1028 m of altitude difference +/-) €42.50

• LEGEND RUN 30 (30 km and 1970 m of altitude difference +/-) €50.00

• LEGEND RUN 45 (47 km and 3460 m of altitude difference +/-) €60.00

• LEGEND LUX (68 km and 4805 m of altitude difference +/-) €80.00

The registration fee includes:

• name race bib (for registrations until 08/30/2024)

• race pack (for organizational reasons, registrations made from 08/18/2023 cannot guarantee the completeness of the race pack or the availability of the size of any gadget provided)

• refreshments along the race route and healthcare

• final pasta party or lunch bag

• showers

• parking lots

• real-time tracking with GPS tracker is included in the Legend Lux fee.

 

ART. 10 – REFUND/CHANGE OF REGISTRATION

In the event of cancellation of the race due to force majeure or the impossibility of holding the event, no refund of the registration fee will be provided.

There will be no refund of the registration fee in the event of an athlete's inability to participate in the race, nor will the registration be moved to the following year.

​

It is possible to transfer your bib by communicating it to the Organization by 08/30/2024 and paying the €5.00 fee for secretarial costs.

It is possible to change the route by communicating it by 08/30/2024 and integrating the fee in the case of switching to higher routes. Differences in altitude will not be reimbursed in the case of switching to lower routes.

 

ART. 11 – BIB AND CHIP

The bibs will be delivered personally to each competitor on the days and during the times published in the event program (see ARTICLE 4) upon presentation of an identity document with photo.

For those who register by 08/30/24 the bib delivered will be nominative. For organizational reasons, after this date the bib will not bear the athlete's name.

The bib, under penalty of disqualification, must always be worn clearly visible throughout the duration of the event. The CHIP will be integrated into the bib and allows the automatic recording (in marked points on the route) or by manual ticking (in surprise points) of the athletes' passages on the route and the formulation of the final rankings. At the start, finish and intermediate control points each competitor must ensure that they have been registered.

Lux participants will be given a GPS tracker device when they collect their bib, which must be kept turned on for the duration of the race and returned at the end. If the tracker is not returned, €100.00 will be charged to the athlete.

The timing is by Sport Dolomiti snc.

 

ART. 12 – SAFETY AND CONTROL

The organization will draw up a health/safety plan which will be available in the days before the event by following the links on the website www.lessinialegendrun.it. By participating in the competitions, each athlete undertakes to respect the decisions made by the rescuers during the management of any form of emergency that may arise during the event.

On the route there will be organization staff in constant contact with the base. Ambulances and medical and paramedical staff will be stationed at various points along the route, as well as at the start and finish, where a medical team will also be present.

For health emergencies during the race the reference number is 118.

Control points will be set up along the route, where organization staff will monitor the passage of the athletes and will be able to carry out checks on the mandatory material. Anyone who refuses to submit to the mandatory material check will be immediately disqualified.

 

ART. 13 - DEPARTURE TIMES, MAXIMUM TIME AND GATES TIMES

The “LEGEND LUX” race will start at 6.00 am and the maximum time to complete the route will be 14 hours (arrival by 8.00 pm).

The following gates are also provided:

• Giazza (km 8.7): 1h 50′ / 07.50 hours

• Fraccaroli refuge (km 28.5): 6h30′ / 12.30pm

• Revolto refuge (km 51.1): 11h30' / 5.30pm

 

The “LEGEND RUN 45” race will start at 7.00 am and the maximum time to complete the route will be 11.30 hours.

The following gates are also provided:

• Giazza (km 8.7): 1h 50′ / 08.50 hours

• Scalorbi refuge (km 25.3): 6h20′ / 1.20pm

• Revolto refuge (km 33.8): 8h00' / 15.00

 

The “LEGEND RUN 30” race will start at 8.00 am and the maximum race time is set at 9.00 hours.

The following time gates are foreseen:

• Giazza (km 8.7): 2h 00′ / 10.00 am

• Giazza (km 19.0): 6h00′ / 2.00pm

 

The “LEGEND RUN 20” race will start at 9.00 am and the maximum race time is set at 6.00 hours.

Giazza (km 8.7): 2h 00′ / 11.00am

 

The “LEGEND RUN 10” race will start at 10.00 am and the maximum race time is set at 3.30 hours. The "LEGEND RUN 10 Trail&Walk" is scheduled to follow.

There are no intermediate time gates.

Athletes who do not start from the control points within the limits established by the time gates will be considered collected and will have to hand over the bib to the organization's staff. The competitor who wishes to continue without a bib out of the race will do so assuming all responsibility for the consequences that could arise.

 

ART. 14 - SERVIZIO SCOPA

The last competitor of each test will be followed by the organization's "broom service" staff. This staff, in agreement with the Organization, has the full right to stop an athlete even if not at a time gate, organizing his/her return to the arrival area.

 

ART. 15 – PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

The race takes place in ecosystems of significant natural value. Athletes, under penalty of disqualification, must behave respectfully of the natural environment, in particular avoiding scattering waste, picking flowers or harassing fauna. It is mandatory to follow the marked paths, avoiding cuts that could cause damage to the surrounding environment. Each participant is recommended to have a personal glass with them to reduce plastic consumption.

 

ART. 16 - WITHDRAWALS

In the event of an athlete withdrawing along the route, the competitor is obliged, as soon as he has the opportunity, to go to the nearest checkpoint and communicate his abandonment to the organization which will take care of his return to the arrival area. In case of failure to communicate a withdrawal and the consequent start of the search for the runner, any resulting expense will be charged to the runner himself.

 

ART. 17 – DISQUALIFICATIONS AND COMPLAINTS

The competition jury can disqualify a competitor in addition to the cases provided for in the art. 13 also in the following cases:

 

• bib worn incorrectly

• bib exchange

• failure to pass through a checkpoint

• use of a means of transport

• departure from a checkpoint after the time barrier

• doping or refusal to submit to an anti-doping test

• failure to assist another competitor in case of difficulty

• abandonment of one's own material or waste along the route

• failure to comply with the ban on being accompanied on the route

• insults, rudeness or threats against members of the organization or volunteers

• refusal to be examined by an organization doctor at any time during the race.

• failure to comply with the instructions of the organization and/or mountain rescue personnel

• route cuts

 

Only written complaints delivered to the Race Director within 30 minutes of the provisional results being posted are accepted. The race management will evaluate the appeal and respond within the necessary timeframes; the decision of the race direction is final and unappealable.

 

ART. 18 - ROUTE CHANGES AND CANCELLATION OF THE RACE

The organization reserves the right to modify the route at any time during the race to guarantee the safety of the athletes in the event of extraordinary weather events. In case of unfavorable weather conditions the race may be canceled or suspended during the race. In case of changes to the route or the starting time, the time gates and the maximum time of the races could also be modified.

 

ART. 19 - INSURANCE

The organization takes out civil liability insurance for the entire period of the trial. Participation takes place under the entire responsibility of the competitors, who renounce any appeal against the organizers in the event of damage and further consequences that derive from or are in any case connected with participation in the races. To receive the bib, each athlete is required to sign a declaration of assumption of personal responsibility.

Although there is no regulatory obligation for either the competitors or the organization to take out insurance coverage for the participants, the organization invites each participant to obtain insurance coverage on their own behalf for damage caused to themselves and/or third parties during the event.

 

ART. 20 - RANKINGS AND PRIZES

All athletes who reach the finish line within the maximum time will be classified.

They will be rewarded for each race:

• the top 5 women

• the first 5 men

Based on current legislation, the awards ceremony can take place in public with all the athletes, or individually in order to avoid crowds.

 

ART. 21 - IMAGE RIGHTS

Each competitor expressly renounces the right to exercise their image rights during the competition, as well as renounces any appeal against the organization and its authorized partners for the use made of their image. Pursuant to law 196/03, personal data will only be used to form the list of participants, the ranking, the services declared on the website, the historical archive and for sending information material of the Lessinia Legend Run.
